38-39) Nont Sarahs
Not actually the name of the slope, but rather the pub on the corner a mile down the road. The photos show a
nice day where the wind was too light for the parascenders or hanggliders that also use this site from time
to time.
On those days when it is ideal for both sports to take place, the un-official rule is for models to stay to
the left. I have seen a few hairy situations, sometimes the hangliders but more often the parascenders straying
into 'our' area. These days are not so much fun as those when the wind is very strong and the hang Gliders stay
away in their droves.
The High Sierra had its first crash here. It was very blustery, and hardly penetrated away from the slope at all.
It was over in seconds. A gust of wind flipped up a wing and it went inverted, Geoff somehow got it level again
and it was flipped over again, straight onto a rock.
